Maison de l’Escargot is a project conceived by designer and artist Jonathan Lane-Smith and Elizabeth McAlpine. Originally from London in 2015 they bought a plot of land on the edge of the village of Maussane-les-Alpilles in Provence and built a family home for themselves and their two children. The building has a studio from where we work, as well as two self contained guest suites that are available for rent either directly or through Airbnb.
The apartments look out over a large potager and have access to a 12 x 4 meter saltwater swimming pool. The project was designed in collaboration with architect Laura Dewe Mathews, who created apartmentswith a light, open and airy environment with fully equipped kitchens and private terraces for outside dining.
We welcome our guests to make use of our pool and to enjoy the garden. We are also on hand to offer our thoughts on great places to eat locally, as well as interesting things to do in Provence and the surrounding area of Les Alpilles
The apartments can be booked directly with us or via Airbnb via the links below. Rates are 170€ per night from May-September, 150€ per night from March to April and 130€ per night from October to February. Christmas, New Year and Easter are charged at peak season rates.
